Reed & Barton is a prominent American silversmith manufacturer based in the city of Taunton, Massachusetts, operating between 1824 and 2015. Its products include sterling silver and silverplate flatware. The company produced many varieties of britannia and silver products since Henry G. Reed and Charles E. Barton took over the failing works of Isaac Babbitt in Taunton. During the American Civil War, Reed & Barton produced a considerable quantity of weapons for Union Army soldiers and officers.

The deep circular bowl with flaring rim, raised on a short spreading foot, the side engraved R, marked on underside and with date symbol for 1940 12⅜ in. (31.4 cm.) diameter; 54 oz. 18 dwt. (1,707 gr.) The engraved initial R is that of Rockefeller.

Coffeepot, of five-piece hot beverage service 1928 Reed and Barton (founded in 1827)
The vessel is composed of two wide truncated cones of differing sizes that have been stamped in a narrow pattern of panels and soldered together at their widest points. A conforming foot is soldered below. A related lid has a narrow band of panels below the hollow stamped finial; it is attached to the coffeepot by means of a projecting hinge. A hollow seamed handle with ivory insulators is attached. The hollow acorn-shaped finial bears a similar narrow reeded pattern.
