Johann S Kurz & Co were German silver makers with work assayed with the Hanau Town Mark. Their mark consisted of a J, followed by a swan, and a K. Their work was high quality and included music boxes figures.

A Karl Griesbaun silver singing bird box German, 20th century, also stamped 925, maker’s mark on case for Johann S Kurz & Co The singing and feathered bird with automated beak, wings and tail, swivelling on stand in ornate case decorated in relief with scrolls and birds, with plated key, length 10cm.
