Viners was founded by Adolphe Viener (also spelled Adolph Weiner when he was knighted by the Crown) and his sons. They were silversmiths who initially worked in traditional small workshops. The hallmark for Viners Ltd. silver was registered to his son Edward Viner. in 1932 it was “E.V” with figures and in 1964, it was “EV” with associated figures. Reference: Wikipedia

Viners Ltd., Six -Piece Sterling Silver Coffee and Tea Service with Ebonized Wood Handles Sheffield, circa 1947 Comprising a kettle on stand, coffee pot, teapot, creamer, two-handled covered sugar bowl and a covered waste bowl. Height of kettle on stand 12 1/2 inches, total approximately 126 ounces, all in. Each appears to be in generally good condition except for a dent to the rim edge of the fuel burner element; no apparent dings or dents to the other hollowware pieces; the three wood finials appear to be original and are consistent (the same); finials are not loose; pins on handles are not loose; condition of the wood handles appears to be good; no apparent monograms or evidence of monogram removal; there is light superficial polishing scratches to the finish, consistent with age, usage and handling; there are a few light scratch marks to the cover on the sugar bowl
